Mexico Wins Miss World 2018

Vanessa Ponce from Mexico was crowned as Miss World 2018 in the 68th edition of the Miss World pageant, which took place in Sanya, China on December 8, 2018. She succeeds Manushi Chhillar of India as the new Miss World.

This is the first time Mexico has won the Miss World crown. Mexico’s victory was also predicted by us in our final predictions.

Meanwhile, Miss Thailand, Nicolene Limsnukan was titled as the first runner up.

The Miss World pageant was judged by former Miss World titleholders like Rolene Strauss and Ksenia Sukhinova. The coronation gala was presented by former Miss World titleholders, Megan Young and Stephanie Del Valle along with Barney Walsh and Angela Chow.

Tanzania is TKOP Readers’ Choice For Miss World 2018

Miss World 2018 will be the 68th edition of the Miss World pageant which is all set to culminate in Sanya, China on December 8, 2018. In few hours, the reigning Miss World Manushi Chhillar of India will be passing on her crown to her successor.

We at The Kaleidoscope of Pageantry conducted a poll few days back asking our readers who should win Miss World 2018 pageant. We received 320,730 votes from all around the globe in which Miss Tanzania, Queen Elizabeth Makune  emerged as the winner with 45% votes garnering total 143,779 votes.

Miss World 2018- Meet The Top 30 Shortlisted Finalists For The Finals!

Miss World 2018 will be the 68th edition of the Miss World pageant which is slated to take place in Sanya, China on December 8, 2018. During the conclusion of the pageant, Manushi Chhillar of India will crown her successor as the next Miss World.

This year the coronation gala of Miss World will be presented by Frankie Cena, Barney Walsh, Stephanie Del Valle and Jay Kamiraz. After the changed format of Miss World pageant last year, the event has become even more exciting and fun to wait for! While the Head to Head Challenge is garnering appreciation all over the world, announcement of Fastrack Challenge winners prior to finale is making the pageant fans gleam with joy, so without much delay let us have a look at the finalists who have already paved their way to Top 30 of Miss World finals.

Top Model Winner- Miss France, Maëva Coucke

Maëva Coucke was the first contestant to secure her spot in Top 30 as soon as she won the Top Model round. Some of the much loved Miss World winners like Megan Young and Mireia Lalaguna Royo were also the winner of Top Model Round when they competed for the Miss World pageant. With Maëva Coucke winning this imperative challenge, it could be gauged that she is here to go a long way and has certainly earned the spotlight

Talent Winner- Miss Japan, Kanako Date

Kanako Date was the second contestant to enter the semi-finals after giving an impeccable performance from Puccini’s opera Tosca, the aria: Vissi d’Art. She has been consistent in the competition right since she landed in Sanya for the Miss World competition.

Sports Challenge Winner- Miss USA, Marisa Butler

Training since last two years for the sports competition at Miss World pageant, Marisa Butler secured her place in the finals by grabbing sports challenge fastrack fair and square.

Multimedia and BWAP Winner- Miss Nepal, Shrinkhala Khatiwada

Making noise in the competition without the sash factor, Shrinkhala impressed the audience with her performance and action rather than loaded words. By sweeping the most significant title in the Miss World competition, that is, Beauty with a Purpose, she has solidified her spot in the Top 5. Moreover her Multimedia was a sheer bliss to eyes as she showcased her Miss World journey in an extravagantly beautiful way.

Head to Head Challenge Winners

Now coming to the Head to Head Challenge winners, who get a direct entry to Top 30 of Miss World finals. Unlike last year, where the winner of each group got an entry to finals, this year the Head to Head Challenge was divided in two parts, wherein the first round was assessed on the basis of audience poll and the second one on the basis of jury’s verdict. Kanako Date From Japan Bags Best in Talent At Miss World 2018: Grabs Top 30 Spot!

Miss Japan, Kanako Date after luring the world with her flawless performance from Puccini’s opera Tosca, the aria: Vissi d’Art, secured her spot in Top 30 of Miss World 2018 finals by winning the Talent Round.

During the Talent Round, China PR secured the first runner up position, Canada placed as the second runner up, while Poland and Malaysia settled down for third and fourth runners up position respectively.

Miss Japan now joins Top 30 of Miss World 2018 along with Nepal (Multimedia and BWAP winner), France (Top Model Winner), United States (Sports Winner) and Head to Head Challenge winners.

Nepal Bags Another Title at Miss World 2018, Wins Multimedia Challenge!

There is no doubt about how hard Nepal is striving to sweep the Miss World title this year. After winning Beauty with a Purpose challenge, Shrinkhala Khatiwada has claimed yet another glory by grabbing the Miss Multimedia title. Nepal’s representative, Shrinkhala was adjudged as the best contestant on being evaluated on the basis of all social media platforms, audience engagement, creative content and influence.

The Miss World Organization chose Nepal as the best contestant when it came to using a variety of content while documenting the Miss World journey, showcasing the wonders of beautiful Sanya and highlighting the powerful work of Beauty with a Purpose. Meanwhile, Mexico and Kenya settled down for the first and second runners up position respectively at the Multimedia challenge.

In addition to the usual Miss World Multimedia Challenge, this year, the contestants were further required to create their own unique promotional video of Sanya.  These videos were judged by a multimedia panel, to include Mr. Tang – Vice Chief Sanya Tourism. After careful deliberation, the multimedia panel selected the top five videos – voted best Sanya Tourism promotional videos.  The videos securing the top spots were:

  1. First – Kenya
  2. Second – China PR
  3. Third – Nepal
  4. Fourth – Puerto Rico
  5. Fifth – England

Shrinkhala Khatiwada From Nepal Is Beauty With A Purpose Winner at Miss World 2018!

Nepal makes its space in the Top 30 of Miss World 2018 finals by bagging not just one but two significant Fastrack Challenges. Considered to be the most essential segment of the Miss World pageant which carries maximum marks in the judgement of Miss World contestants, Nepal’s Shrinkhala Khatiwada created a powerful impact with her Beauty with a Purpose project which revolves around designing and building health care centres around the remote areas.

The selection process for Beauty With A Purpose was held at the Moulin Rouge Theatre at the Mangrove Tree Resort World in Sanya, China on December 3, 2018. During the same event, Mexico, Vietnam, New Zealand and Indonesia summed up the Top 5 spot. The other top place earners were Chile, Jamaica, Kenya, Lebanon, Malaysia, Panama and Trinidad & Tobago.

Miss World 2018: USA Secures its Spot in Top 30 Finals!

Miss World 2018 is moving closer to its grand finale, wrapping up all significant pre-pageant activities and fastrack challenges. In the sports fastrack challenge held at the Rosewood Hotel in Sanya, China, 118 countries engaged in a neck to neck battle, in which Miss World United States, Marisa Butler emerged as the winner.

As the winner of Sports Fastrack Challenge, Miss United States, Marisa Butler gets a chance to directly advance in the Top 30 of Miss World 2018 finals.

During the same event, Miss World Bolivia, Vanessa Vargas finished as the first runner up while Miss World Netherlands, Leonie Hesselink ended up as the second runner up.

The sports challenge witnessed various competitions including long jump, swimming and so on. Post the win, Miss United States expressed her ecstasy opining she trained for two years for the Miss World Sports Fastrack.

In the most awaited segment of Miss World pageant, the Top Model Competition, Miss World France, Maëva Coucke emerged as the winner. Consequently, as the winner of the Fastrack Challenge, she gets a direct entry to Top 30 of Miss World 2018 grand finale.

Besides, France, Miss World China, Mao Peirui and Miss World Senegal, Aïsattou Filly finished as the first and second runners up respectively. In addition, Miss World South Africa, Thulisa Keyi and Miss World Korea, Bo Ah Cho settled down for the third and fourth runners up titles respectively.

Madelen Michelsen Crowned Miss World Norway 2018

Madelen Michelsen was crowned as Miss World Norway 2018 on July 28, 2018 in Oslo, Norway. She succeeds Celine Herregården as the new Miss World Norway and will now represent Norway at Miss World 2018 wherein Manushi Chhillar of India will crown her successor as next Miss World.

During the same event, Susanne Næss Guttorm was crowned as Miss Universe Norway 2018. While Helene Abildsnes was titled as the first runner-up and Rebecca Bjørk finished as the second runner-up.

Norway has so far never won the Miss World crown but came closest to winning the Miss World crown in 1972 when Ingeborg Sørensen was adjudged as the first runner up.
