Miss Grand International 2018: The Best and Worst Evening Gowns at Welcome Event!

The Gowns That Failed and Impressed at Miss Grand International 2018

Miss Grand International 2018 will be the 6th edition of the Miss Grand International pageant which is slated to take place on October 25, 2018 in Myanmar. During the conclusion of the pageant, Maria Jose Lora from Peru will crown her successor as new Miss Grand International.

While the pageant season has just begun with Miss Grand International being the first rising star among all, like every year, we begin with our discussion on the best part of pageants, which is, yes, you guessed it right, evening gowns! As they say, first impression is the last impression, the candidates vying to win the golden Miss Grand International crown got a chance to build their first impression during the press conference and media interactions, wherein each delegate had to introduce herself.

Talking about pageants and you miss the discussion on the worst and best evening gowns? Bizarre ain’t it? So how could I miss to present my ideas on which evening gown impressed me with the charisma and which horrendously horrified me. Please note that our attention is not how the girl carried herself in the evening gown but solely on how impressive a particular evening gown is. So let’s go!

BEST EVENING GOWNS

1. Thailand- Namoey Chanaphan

Thailand
Thailand

Thailand never fails to impress at all when it comes to styling and dressing! What a gorgeous gown for the gorgeous girl. What made the gown look alluring were the pearl like beads with intricate details. While the gown did not look extra for the event, it was also not simple enough to be forgettable among the rest. The intricate details helped the lady to shine and the floor length design just made the beauty more queenly, regal and graceful.

2. Mexico- Lezly Díaz

Mexico
Mexico

The beautiful gown made Lezly Díaz look crown ready with its charismatic attributes. The feather work reminded us of Ivian Sarcos winning evening gown from Miss World 2011. The color, fitting and intricate details all shouted for a deserving limelight.

3. India- Meenakshi Chaudhary

India
India

Wow! The look was breathtaking enough to make all the people following Miss Grand International pageant gasp in awe. The beautiful Falguni and Shane Peacock Indian traditional attire made Meenakshi stand out in the crowd with sheer glory. Not only did it reflect the beauty of Indian culture but with the vibrant tinch in the colour, it added grandeur to the charm of the candidate.

4. Paraguay- Clara Sosa

Paraguay
Paraguay

As they say, less is more! The gown did not try too hard to gain the spotlight. Beautiful fitting, sober and somber design with the sequins doing all the drama, Paraguay made the entry to the pageant in a magnificent way without saying much.

5. Ecuador- Blanca Arambulo

Ecuador
Ecuador

Now you might be surprised to see this one on the list! But this outfit made a style statement last night with an unusual colored gown showcasing a little unusual design. Ecuador did manage to stand out with her crisp styling and dressing.

WORST EVENING GOWNS

1. Bulgaria- Beloslava Slavcheva Yordanova

Bulgaria
Bulgaria

The ill fitted evening gown with no design made a poor show at the runway! The color was dull and the makeup and hair made the entire look even more shabby.

2. Moldova- Alexandra Predus

Moldova
Moldova

The slit in the gown did not look neat and the net sleeves did not add any beauty to the outfit. The ill fitting made it look all the more unlikable.

3. Albania- Klaudia Kalia

Albania
Albania

The gown appeared to be simply served to runway without any customized fitting or finishing. The structure of the gown was straight and did not add to any drama robbing the girl chance of showing her curves.

4. Canada- Grace Diamani

Canada
Canada

The gown did not do justice to an event like press conference or welcome event. The length of the gown was improper and the color too dull to be forgettable in the lot.

5. Lithuania- Jūratė Stasiūnaitė

Lithuania
Lithuania

The fitting of the gown was extremely poor making the candidate appear bulky.

So these were our choices for the worst and best evening gowns at Miss Grand International pageant. What were your choices? Do let us know in the comment section below. Meanwhile, have a look at the evening gowns of all the contestants right here. Also, stay tuned as we release more reviews in the days to come!

Femina Miss India 2018: An Insight To Final Question And Answer Round

Femina Miss India 2018: Question And Answer Round

Femina Miss India 2018 concluded with the crowning ceremony of Anukreethy Vas from Tamil Nadu as the winner of Fbb Colors Femina Miss India World 2018 followed by Meenakshi Chaudhary and Shreya Rao Kamavarapu joining as runners up. The grand finale of the pageant took place on June 19, 2018 at Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Indoor Stadium, Mumbai.

Meanwhile, The Kaleidoscope of Pageantry is here with the transcript of the question and answer rounds so as to let our readers know what made the contestants reach this far in the journey! Let’s get started.

All the Top 5 finalists were asked a common question “Who is a better teacher in life – success or failure?”

Anukreethy Vas

I would say failure is a better teacher because when you get continuous success in life, you will feel content at a point and your growth will stop. But when you get failures continuously, the soul will have the fire and you will keep working hard until you reach the goal. It’s always been failure in my life that took me to this position – from a village-based place, from all the struggle, I am here. Not even a single person was there to support me other than my mother and I feel only the failures, the criticism I have gone through have brought me up as a confident and independent woman in this society. And experience is always the best teacher and that is what I can tell you. So keep trying. Though the failures might haunt you, success will wish you.

Gayatri Bharadwaj

I believe that success is something that comes naturally to you when you have your heart set out on a goal when you believe so hard that you can achieve anything that you put your heart to. Even if you fail it doesn’t matter because you have given your best and I believe that my dreams are going to come true because I have given my 100 percent. And winning or loosing doesn’t matter, success is all about… I am sorry. Failure pushes you to do better and achieve your goals.

Meenakshi Chaudhary

Well for me in my life, I have so many experiences of failures and success. Success taught me what it feels to be on the top of the world but failure taught me what it takes to push back and reach to the place which makes me feel what it feels like what success is, that gives me the feeling to understand what I have work so hard for. No matter what you do, no matter where you are, failure is that one thing that makes you understand the importance of what success and achieving your goals in life is all about. And for me, I personally believe failure is the better teacher in life as it relates and makes you understand what success means to you.

Stefy Patel

I think life is all about learning and we need success or failure, everything is important in life. And when you feel then you fail, you fall down, you take back all your energy to get up, you get up strong, you fight, and you succeed. And I think success and failure are parallel in life and life is incomplete without them and to be successful in life, to reach to a better height, failure is really important so that you learn to collect yourself and reach the biggest height and that is how life is and that’s how both of them are really important.

Shreya Rao Kamavarapu

I think journey is the better teacher in life, definitely success and failure are the outcomes and we definitely learn once we get to it, but I think journey is what teaches you and journey is what teaches you what exactly we are supposed to learn, all the basics that you need you get it through that, and success and failure is just an outcome and definitely I think once you fail is when you get up and reach the goal and definitely someone who fails will definitely be successful one day because he will learn what’s the best.

Femina Miss India 2018: The Final Hotpicks And Concluding Review!

Femina Miss India 2018: The Final Predictions

This year all the eyes are on Femina Miss India 2018 and why shall it not be, for the reigning Miss World, Manushi Chhillar will pass on her legacy to the new queen as the next Miss World India, who will then represent India at Miss World 2018 hoping for a back to back victory.

After observing all the thirty state representatives through various videos, behind the scenes insights and social media presence, The Kaleidoscope of Pageantry is here to present the much awaited final hotpicks for Femina Miss India 2018. While the competition since the beginning seemed in the favour of the north and the east zone, as the journey progressed many dark horses emerged to gear up their game. So without any further ado let’s talk about the final favourites of The Kaleidoscope of Pageantry, who can perform very well not only in the grand finale of Femina Miss India 2018, but also at the international platforms.

Miss World India 2018- Meenakshi Chaudhary- Haryana

Haryana- Meenakshi Chaudhary
Haryana- Meenakshi Chaudhary

At this juncture of the pageant, Meenakshi Chaudhary from the home state of the reigning Miss World, Manushi Chhillar, seems the safest choice for a pageant like Miss World. Meenakshi apart from having tall corporeal frame and fine facial features seems ready for Miss World pageant when it comes to Top Model Round and Sports Round. Meenakshi won two gold medals in the sports challenge at Femina Miss India 2018 and was also a Top 6 finalist at Miss Active. Coming from an army background, where she lost her father few months ago, Meenakshi despite of all the odds has been managing her medical education and pageant with complete conviction. The 21 years old beauty has been a state level badminton and swimming sportsperson and is currently working on her Beauty with a Purpose project revolving around the idea of oral hygiene. The edge Meenakshi has over others is her spontaneous personality, and now that she has won Miss Photogenic she has solidified her position in the game. She comes across as more natural than some of the front runners and if crowned as Miss World India, Meenakshi can be moulded into a better version of herself.

Miss Grand India 2018- Gayatri Bharadwaj- Delhi

Delhi- Gayatri Bharadwaj
Delhi- Gayatri Bharadwaj

Gayatri is one of the most beautiful ladies in the batch. With the beauty such majestic and ramp walk on point, Gayatri can certainly bring home the first Miss Grand International crown. If sent to Miss Grand International pageant, Gayatri Bharadwaj can take the legacy of Vartika Singh ahead. Being a medical student, this 22 years old lady is very well proficient in singing, Bharatnatyam classical dance and has been a national level football player. Gayatri is currently working on her Beauty with a Purpose project related to spreading awareness of oral hygiene and ill effects of tobacco consumption. If sent to Miss Grand International pageant, her soft and subtle personality will help her to join the league of previous Miss Grand International titleholders like Ariska Putri Pertiwi and Janelee Chaparro as the first Miss Grand International from India.

Miss United Continents India- Mary Khyriem- Meghalaya

Meghalaya- Mary Khyriem
Meghalaya- Mary Khyriem

Mary Khyriem is the rare find of Femina Miss India 2018! While some pageant critics believe she is hyped, I say she deserves all the limelight and attention for the right reasons. The most effective tool which Mary possesses in this journey is that she is simply being herself and is not at all trying hard to come across as a front runner. After watching all the media bites and introduction videos, I believe Mary throughout the journey has emerged as highly convincing and genuine, who is living the moment with the approach of a healthy competition. Mary has been open to all suggestions and constructive criticisms, and after getting shortlisted in more than eight important sub-contests like Beauty with a Purpose and Miss Rampwalk, Mary has strengthened her position in Top 3. She won Miss Talented subtitle at both zonal and national level and has also been awarded with the title of Miss Refreshing Beauty.

Stefy Patel- Jharkhand

Jharkhand- Stefy Patel
Jharkhand- Stefy Patel

This beautiful lady has everything to lock her place in the Top 3 and certainly deserves a Top 6 placement. Her stage presence is remarkable and she has one of the best rapwalk styles in the entire batch. Despite of coming from the showbiz background, Stefy has been very warm to her fellow contestants. With the stunning face, positive demeanour and spectacular stage presence like that, Stefy should never be wasted. She is suitable for both Miss Grand International and Miss United Continents pageants and has the calibre to give great results in any of the aforementioned pageants. She has really worked hard to be in Femina Miss India pageant after many attempts erstwhile, and has everything to turn million heads.

Meena Ahir- Madhya Pradesh

Madhya Pradesh- Meena Ahir
Madhya Pradesh- Meena Ahir

What a beautiful surprise Meena has proved out to be in this pageant. After winning the title of Miss Rampwalk, Meena has turned out to be a very strong candidate in the batch. This beautiful lady was always in my radar when it came to styling sense and posing for the pictures. Scrolling down her Instagram profile, I always believed five years down the lane, Meena is going to be a successful print model for sure. With those photogenic facial features and stunning stage presence, she stands out in all the group photographs and has a body well in shape. If she is to be sent to any international pageant, Miss Grand International pageant would be a smart choice, where facial beauty, photogenic features and good stage presence is treasured.

Prarthna Sarkar- West Bengal

West Bengal- Prarthna Sarkar
West Bengal- Prarthna Sarkar

If I were to chose the most eloquent candidate in the batch, without a second thought my choice would be Prarthna. She is the wisest speaker of the batch and her polished personality shines bright like a diamond when she talks off or on the camera. She won one gold medal in the sports challenge held at Bennett University and has been the All India Best NCC Cadet erstwhile. Apart from that she has also been the Youth Delegate of Russia and has held Governors medal recipient title with utmost pride. She loves painting, singing and photography and has one of the most unique personalities in the Femina Miss India 2018 batch. If Femina Miss India Organization is to crown an unconventional winner for Miss World, crowning a wise and eloquent persona like Prarthna would be a strong move.

Semi-Finalists

Final Predictions Miss India 2018 Femina.jpg

Shreya Rao Kamavarapu- Andhra Pradesh

If there is someone who gave the most incredible insights of the Femina Miss India 2018 journey through her social media, it has to be Shreya! I believe, she will win Miss Multimedia title on the grand finale and will make a straight entry to the semi-finals. Her open-hearted and warm nature, outgoing personality and happy to go lucky optimistic aura has made people follow her journey, if not completely adore her. Irrespective of whether she walks home with the crown or not, she is going to be remembered as one of the impressive candidates this year. If considered for an international pageant, it has to be Miss United Continents, where her gregarious personality would be welcomed. Winning an important title like Miss Goodness Ambassador, Shreya has affirmed her prowess.

Lily Darnei- Mizoram

If there is someone who has lived the pageant with utmost liveliness, it is none other than Lily Darnei. She made her grip tight in the pageant right since her getaway goddess video was praised by the pageant fans and critics. Her dainty smile, cheerful and positive aura along with her stronger personality when it comes to Sports Round and Miss Active sub-contest, asserts that she is here to make it big! With the sleek and sexy body and impressive stage presence, Lily is very much suitable for a pageant like Miss Grand International and if sent to this edition of the said pageant, which is slated to take place in Myanmar this October, Lily with her distinctive north eastern facial features will not only reflect the diversity of India but will also gain enormous social media momentum with her huge fan base.

Anukreethy Vas- Tamil Nadu

Anukreethy shined in the competition right since the live session at Femina Miss India 2018, wherein she was seen talking about the struggles which made her reach at this laudable platform. After seeing her resort wear photoshoot and unveiling photoshoot and after beholding the charm which she embodies while walking the runway, I certainly see the Miss Beautiful Smile winner, Anukreethy, shining on the big day.

Bhavna Jain- Bihar

Bhavna has impressed me a lot in this entire one month. Be it her killer pose and expressions during photoshoot or awe-striking stage presence during the press conference, Bhavna never faded in the crowd. This national level skater has an impressive body language and talks sense whenever she is seen facing the camera.

Anushka Luhar- Gujarat

Anushka solidified her place in the finals by making it to Top 10 of Shining Star and also by giving great shots in the resort wear shoot, glam shoot and the unveiling shoot. Coming from a rich educational background, Anushka comes from the Campus Princess camp and has the aura to shine on the finale.

Aashna Gurav- Goa

Aashna has a great stage presence and an amazing rampwalk. While watching all the ramp videos, Aashna stood out effectively in my opinion, she speaks well and has a magnetic personality to turn heads.

Ruopfuzhano Wiso- Nagaland

Ruopfuzhano is incredibly smart and wise for her age. Being the youngest in the batch, she talks sense and holds maturity to project her personality in an impressive manner.

Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia- Manipur

Throughout the competition, Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia reflected the amalgamation of an impressive styling sense, smart communication skills and polished body language.  Being well groomed in advance, Nimrit stood out during many episodes of the pageant.

Sai Kamakshi Bhaskarla- Telangana

Kamakshi comes across as well educated girl, her ideas and words sound intellectual and her personality appears wise and polished. She commands attention whenever she expresses her opinion. She certainly deserves a placement in the semi-finals.

Honourable Mentions

Mehaak Punjabi- Maharashtra

Mehaak has a stunning face and beautiful smile. She comes across as smart, vivacious and chic. Her official live session at Femina Miss India was quite fun and engaging.

Anna Kler- Punjab

Winning Miss Body Beautiful in such strong batch is no cakewalk. Anna comes across as mature and wise lady and has always maintained her splendour at various junctures of the pageant.

Sumita Bhandari- Uttarakhand

I have been a fan of her styling sense and fierce expressions since the beginning of the pageant. As much as I wished to see her as India at Miss Grand International, I would love to see her back at Miss Diva 2019, improving her communication skills, so that we can cheer for her as India at Miss Universe.

Spandana Palli- Chhattisgarh

Spandana has been very active on social media and has given her best in philanthropic projects. She has worked a lot on her body since her crowning as Femina Miss India Chhattisgarh, and has shown an amazing transformation.

Bhavana Durgam- Karnataka

Bhavana has a beautiful face and a very generous personality. She speaks very well. Her journey has been an interesting one.

Parmila Chhettri- Sikkim

I am in awe with the gorgeous expressions, Parmila highlighted during all the photoshoots. Her getaway goddess video was a bliss to eyes and her social media posts were quite gratifying.

With this, I am signing off my reviews on Femina Miss India 2018, wishing all thirty state representatives good luck with a positive note, irrespective of whether you win the crown or not, you are a queen making it this far. The doors for new adventures are open till eternity, inviting you to foray in ample new fields. Here’s to new beginnings! 🙂

Femina Miss India 2018: The Unveiling Shots Which Won Limelight!

Femina Miss India 2018: A Review On Official Unveiling Shoot!

The 55th edition of Femina Miss India is slated to take place on June 19, 2018 in Mumbai. The contestants are hoping to fill in the big shoes of the reigning Miss World, Manushi Chhillar as the next representative of India at Miss World 2018. The grand finale of Femina Miss India 2018 is expected to take place in the month of June in Mumbai.

We waited quite long for this photoshoot to be released, and the wait was worthwhile. I really loved the fact that Femina Miss India Organization used ethnic wear to unveil the candidates vying to be Femina Miss India 2018. The thirty state representatives were found wearing Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla creations alongside donning the beautiful accessories from Purab Paschim & Azotiique. Unlike last year, where the unveiling shoot was carried out in Rajasthan, this year the location had to be Mumbai itself in Aayush Resort, Panvel, nonetheless giving very vibrant and extravagant touch to the background. The entire shoot was directed by the ace Fashion Director, Eshaa Amiin and was photographed by Rakesh Sidana with Bianca Louzado assisting the Hair and Makeup.

So without any further ado, let’s have a look at some of the most impressive pictures from the unveiling photoshoot.

1. Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia- Manipur

Manipur- Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia
Manipur- Nimrit Kaur Ahluwalia

Incredible shot! Throughout the pageant, Nimrit shined with her amazing styling sense and vivacious personality. We were waiting to see her bolder and fiercer side, and there she is, giving her best! This picture comes across as highly refined not only in terms of the background and the wardrobe, but also how Nimrit has highlighted her sexier side unapologetically. The shoot is worthy of being sent as the official picture for any international pageant, and it would not be wrong if we say she has channelized her inner Sonam Kapoor through this shoot. 😉

2. Parmila Chhetri- Sikkim

Sikkim- Pramila Chhetri
Sikkim- Parmila Chhetri

Whenever it comes to photoshoot, Parmila never fails to astonish with her magnificent aura. She is very well aware of her best angels and is a pro in delivering great shots with sheer confidence and fierceness. This beautiful picture gives yet another glimpse of how much cameras love Miss Sikkim! I really loved the fact that, Parmila used her duppata as an intelligent prop and placed it behind the chair, giving a very laid back yet sexy sort of photograph. Hats off to how she worked with camera!

3. Mary Khyriem- Meghalaya

Meghalaya- Mary Khyriem
Meghalaya- Mary Khyriem

If there had to be a living doll, it would have been none other than Mary! Her gorgeous smile goes very well with the turquoise outfit, making her look all the more queenly and royal.  The posture, body language and dainty smile makes this shot appealingly enchanting.

4. Meenakshi Chaudhary- Haryana

Haryana- Meenakshi Chaudhary

Poised, graceful and royal, this is how a Miss India aspirant should be and Meenakshi Chaudhary precisely reflects the same attributes in this stunning unveiling shot. Although Meenakshi does not try too hard in terms of posing or giving expressions, yet her smile comes across as very genuine and convincing. Looks like she has now already got hold of her best angels! All in all, a brilliant photograph!

5. Anushka Luhar- Gujarat

Gujrat- Anushka Luhar

The black colour suits Miss Gujarat so well! The expressions, body language and personality brought out by Anushka in this picture is worth appreciating. She shines effortlessly in this majestic background and royal outfit.

6. Bhavna Jain- Bihar

How wonderfully Bhavna has carried out her journey in this entire one month! Since the day she was crowned as Femina Miss India Bihar 2018, Bhavna has shown immense transformation and this photograph is yet another proof of her caliber. Those facial expressions, finely poised hands and majestic demenour which she portrayed in this picture is commendable.

7. Gayatri Bharadwaj- Delhi

Delhi- Gayatri Bharadwaj

It’s Gayatri’s beautiful face that does all the magic in this photograph. She looks very charming in pink and her smile reflects the beauty of the moment which she is living. Having said that, we would love to see this gorgeous lady giving different expressions in the coming photographs, to behold a never seen before version of herself.

8. Ruopfuzhano Wiso- Nagaland

After seeing the sports fastrack challenge, introduction and getaway goddess videos, we now have a fair idea of who is shining and who is fading. So here I am, to talk about my favourites for Femina Miss India 2018. Since the competition is halfway through, we might see many changes in the rankings in the days to come, however at this juncture here are the ladies who have completely amazed me with their remarkable performance and breathtaking personalities. Let’s get started!

From being a budding doctor to a philanthropist, Meenakshi gives an impression of a resolute competitor, who is determined to assert her prowess. Given her lean and sexy corporeal frame, Meenakshi stands out in the crowd with her posture, poise and grace. Her smile seems to be very convincing and her arresting facial features would give anyone a run for money! With passing time, Meenakshi has proved that she is the rightful successor of Manushi Chhillar as Femina Miss India Haryana. After showing her calibre by winning two gold medals at sports competition, Meenakshi has totally gained the spotlight which is much needed to shine at this juncture. If given a chance to compete at Miss World pageant, Meenakshi can give a good fight for the back to back Miss World victory.

Mary Khyriem- Meghalaya

At this juncture of the pageant, I see Mary Khyriem leading the leaderboard. Mary has an impeccable styling sense, a wonderful aura which can make anyone fall for her, soft and subtle personality which is much admired at the Miss World pageant but at the same time strong and bold ideas to bedazzle the audience. She has a beautiful and soulful voice to ace the talent round and being a pageant veteran, has a good command over the runway walk when it comes to stage presence. Having won Sunsilk Mega Miss North East 2017, Mary has the experience of projecting her impressive side on stage and camera. If given a chance to represent India at Miss World, she would be a wonderful choice.

Gayatri Bharadwaj- Delhi

Delhi never fails to impress, and nor does their candidates! Gayatri was a strong contender for the title even before the auditions took place. She was a Campus Princess finalist and was trained by the Tiara pageant academy, hence she was already under the radar of the critics. Being a trained classical singer and national level football player, Gayatri already won the audience when she won two gold medals at the sports challenge. This 22 years old beauty is a dentist by profession and could be a very good choice for Miss United Continents pageant.

Lily Darnei- Mizoram

I am in awe with her vibrant personality since the day I have seen her perform. She has an immaculate stage presence, mesmerizing styling sense and captivating aura to die for. After being titled as Iron Maiden in the Sports Challenge, Lily has asserted her strong presence in the game. Her getaway goddess video also received much acclamation. If sent to the Miss Grand International pageant, I believe Lily can emerge as a great choice. Apart from being a good performer, Lily has a rooted aura and genuine demeanour, which makes her appear as one of the congenial candidates in this journey.

I see her performing exceptionally well at Multimedia fastrack segment of the pageant, the winner of which gets a straight entry to Top 10 in the finale. From her styling sense to getting along with people warmly, Shreya has certainly emerged as someone who cannot be taken casually at all.

Too prudent and sensible being an 18 years old lady, I love how Ruopfüzhano Whiso is playing her game. Her getaway goddess video was mind blowing and she proved that age is just a number, for wisdom is a matter of experience not age!
