Miss Universe Philippines 2020: Meet The Contestants!
Miss Universe Philippines 2020 will be the first edition of the pageant and is scheduled to take place on June 14, 2020. During the end of the pageant, Gazini Ganados will crown her successor as the new Miss Universe Philippines, who will then represent the Asian pageant powerhouse at the Miss Universe 2020 pageant.
The shortlisted contestants are being mentored by none other than Shamcey Supsup Lee, who now serves as the National Director of the Miss Universe Philippines pageant. Shamcey Supsup was crowned as Miss Universe Philippines by Binibining Pilipinas Organization in 2011 and eventually finished as the third runner up at Miss Universe 2011.

Philippines has won four Miss Universe crown till date under the representation of Gloria Diaz, Margarita Morgan, Pia Wurtzbach and Catriona Gray. However these queens were chosen by Binibining Pilipinas national pageant, and hence this is the very first time that the representative of Philippines is going to be chosen by a very novel pageant. Ayu Maulida from East Java was crowned as Miss Universe Indonesia 2020 in the grand finale of Puteri Indonesia 2020, which took place on 6th March, 2020 at Jakarta Convention Center in Jakarta, Indonesia. She succeeds Frederika Alexis Cull as the new Miss Universe Indonesia and is all set to represent Indonesia at Miss Universe 2020, hoping to succeed Zozibini Tunzi of South Africa as the next Miss Universe.
During the 26th edition of Puteri Indonesia finale, Putu Ayu Saraswati of Bali was titled as Miss International Indonesia 2020. She succeeds Jolene Marie Cholock Rotinsulu as the new Miss International Indonesia and will now represent Indonesia at Miss International 2020 pageant. Meanwhile, Jihane Almira Chedid of Central Java, who was a crowd favorite, was adjudged as Miss Supranational Indonesia 2020 and was crowned by her predecessor, Jesica Fitriana. Jihane Almira will now represent Indonesia at Miss Supranational 2020, hoping to win the first Miss Supranational crown for her country.
Céline Van Outysel of Antwerp Crowned Miss Belgium 2020
Céline Van Outysel of Antwerp was crowned as Miss Belgium 2020 in the 52nd edition of the Miss België pageant which took place on 11th January, 2020 at the Plopsaland Theater in De Panne, Belgium. She succeeds Elena Castro Suarez, the outgoing Miss Belgium titleholder, who represented Belgium at Miss World 2019 pageant. Céline Van Outysel will now represent Belgium at Miss Universe 2020 or Miss World 2020.
The newly crowned Miss Belgium 2020, Céline Van Outysel is 23 years old and is a lawyer by profession. “I fell on the podium myself tonight and is, therefore, the best example that you just have to get up when you fall, even in life,” said the new Miss Belgium. For the fifth time in six years, Miss Belgium comes from the province of Antwerp.
During the same pageant, Celest Decaestecker of West Flanders was titled as the first runner up. If the newly crowned Miss Belgium is unable to compete at both Miss World and Miss Universe pageants due to clash of dates, then the first runner up shall be representing Belgium at one of the pageants. Meanwhile, Anicca Van Hollebeke was adjudged as the second runner up, Laura Vanquaillie was announced as the third runner up and Elize Baron finished as the fourth runner up to Miss Belgium 2020.

Victoria Olona to Represent Nevada at Miss USA 2020
Victoria Olona was crowned as Miss Nevada USA 2020 on January 5th, 2020 at South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa in Las Vegas. She succeeds Tianna Tuamoheloa as the new representative of Nevada at the Miss USA pageant. The newly crowned Miss Nevada USA will now represent Nevada in the 69th edition of Miss USA pageant which is slated to take place during the spring of 2020.
During the same pageant, Ariana Bustos was titled as the first runner up, Brittany Butler was adjudged as the second runner up, Kimberly Andres was announced as the third runner up and Miranda Contreras finished as the fourth runner up.
In the same event, Montana Cencerik of Las Vegas was crowned as Miss Teen Nevada USA 2020, who will represent Nevada at Miss Teen USA 2020.
Yesenia Vidales to Represent Arizona at Miss USA 2020
Yesenia Vidales was crowned as Miss Arizona USA 2020 on January 5th, 2020 at Mesa Arts Center. She succeeds Savannah Wix as the new representative of Arizona at the Miss USA pageant. The newly crowned Miss Arizona USA will now represent Arizona in the 69th edition of Miss USA pageant which is slated to take place during the spring of 2020.
During the same pageant, Alexa Zellers was titled as the first runner up, Isabel Ticlo was adjudged as the second runner up, Andrea Nicole Valera was announced as the third runner up and McKenzie Jones finished as the fourth runner up.
In the same event, Molly Schwanz of North Scottsdale was crowned as Miss Teen Arizona USA 2020, who will represent Arizona at Miss Teen USA 2020.
Honey Cho from Myanmar was crowned as Mrs. Universe 2019 in the 42nd edition of Mrs. Universe which took place on 30th December, 2019 in People’s Republic of China where ninety delegates from all over the world competed for the title of Mrs. Universe 2019. Honey Cho succeeds Julia Gershun of Monaco as the new Mrs. Universe.
The newly crowned Mrs. Universe is a mother of three and is 37 years old. Apart from walking home with the title of Mrs. Universe, Honey Cho also won the Best Personality and Talent Winner Award at the said pageant. Myanmar pioneered its win in Mrs. Universe under Honey Cho’s delegation.
During the same event, delegates from Crimea, China, Central Pacific Asia and Russia were adjudged as the runners up to Honey Cho respectively. Soon after she won the crown, the newly crowned Mrs. Universe took over the social media to opine, “Myanmar, we are the champion! I could humbly wear this Mrs Universe 2019 Crown amongst 90 incredibly outstanding lovely women from all over the globe. Let’s celebrate together.”
Audrey Nabila Monkam was crowned as Miss World Cameroon 2020 in the grand finale of Miss Cameroun 2020 which took place on December 28, 2019 in Yaounde. She succeeds Caroline Nseke as the new Miss Cameroun and will now represent Cameroon at the 70th edition of Miss World pageant wherein Toni Ann Singh from Jamaica will crown her successor as Miss World 2020.
The newly crowned Miss Cameroon 2020, Audrey Nabila, who hails from Bali Nyonga in the North West region of Cameroon is 24 years old and measures 1:80 meter tall. As the winner of the pageant, she received a cash price of 5 million cfa frs, a 4 wheel drive, a ticket of 1.5 million cfa frs offered by Ethiopian Airlines,among other gifts. She is also a Degree holder in Banking and Finance from the University of Buea.
During the same pageant, Marguerite Dieunie Kilama was titled as the first runner up while Rose Noella Moyou Arrey was adjudged as the second runner up. Meanwhile, Charline Stephanie Amougou, Adama Ruth Ule Ayanuru and Duchess Irene Kolle finished as the further runners up respectively.
As the representative of Cameroon at the Miss World 2020 pageant, Audrey Nabila Monkam revealed her project in front of the Minister of Arts and Culture Pierre Ismael Bidoung Mkpwat, to create a vocational program where adults and youths will always sit and discuss to promote cultural diversity, multiculturalism, living together.
As the decade ends, it is time for Binibining Pilipinas to bid adieu to the Miss Universe franchise. The news of Binibining Pilipinas renouncing the Miss Universe Philippines franchise erupted as a volcano in the pageant industry. Led under the supervision of Stella Araneta, Binibining Pilipinas produced four Filipino Miss Universe alongside nine runners up and ten semi-finalists at the Miss Universe pageant. The country became a powerhouse at the said pageant while it continued its ten years placement streak, a feat which many powerhouse countries fail to achieve.
However, subsequent to many speculations few weeks ago until it was made official, Binibining Pilipinas publicly announced that the Miss Universe franchise no longer belongs to them. Soon the new Miss Universe Philippines Organization announced that the newly shortlisted contestants will be mentored by none other than Shamcey Supsup Lee, who will now serve as the National Director of the Miss Universe Philippines pageant and will begin her quest to find Miss Universe Philippines 2020 who shall be representing the Philippines at Miss Universe 2020 pageant. Shamcey Supsup was crowned as Miss Universe Philippines by Binibining Pilipinas Organization in 2011 and eventually finished as the third runner up at Miss Universe 2011.
The Miss Universe Philippines Organization will also witness the involvement of Albert Andrada, who will be serving as the Design Council Head, Jonas Gaffud , who will take the charge of Creative Director and Lia Ramos, who will serve as the Head of Women Empowerment Committee and Charity, looking after the advocacy of the delegates. They will be joined by Atty. Nad Bronce, who will be serving as the Head of Legal Affairs alongside Mario Garcia, who takes the charge of Business Development & Marketing Head.
Beginning it’s new venture, the Miss Universe Philippines Organization took over the social media handle to express, “The Miss Universe Organization is thrilled to announce its partnership with the Miss Universe Philippines Organization – a fresh team that will lead the country towards its continued quest to share the beauty and grace of the Filipina to the rest of the world,” the post on MUP Facebook page read. Rooted in the same strong foundations that have earned the country title after title in the past half century, the Miss Universe Philippines Organization is poised to bring the Miss Universe franchise to greater heights.”

Smrite Bhatia to Represent India at Mrs World 2020
Smrite Bhatia from Vizag has been crowned as Mrs World India 2020. She will now represent India at the Mrs World competition which will be held in Los Angeles, United States in 2020. Smrite Bhatia won the Covisionara Global Mrs. India 2019-20 title last month and held a press conference in Vizag on December 25, 2019 to announce her participation in the upcoming Mrs World pageant.
The newly crowned Mrs World India opined, “My journey started three months ago after being shortlisted in the competition. A proper timetable, goal sheet and eight hours of work everyday helped me win awards. For any competition, I complete my preparation a month in advance and divide my time equally between family and professional responsibilities.” She further added, “Through these competitions, I hope to carry forward the aspirations of a billion people and show the world the fantastic progress that womanhood has made, not just in India but worldwide.”
India last won the Mrs World title in 2001 when Aditi Govitrikar was crowned as the titleholder of the said pageant. Aditi Govitrikar is the only titleholder of Mrs World pageant from India.
