Andrea Toscano Crowned Miss Universe Mexico 2018
Andrea Toscano from Colima was crowned as Miss Universe Mexico 2018 in the first edition of Mexicana Universal 2018, which took place on June 3, 2018. She succeeds Denisse Franco as the new Miss Universe Mexico and will now represent Mexico at Miss Universe 2018 wherein Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters of South Africa will crown her successor as next Miss Universe.
During the same event, Aranza Molina of Tabasco was titled as the first runner up, Maryely Leal from Sinaloa was adjudged as the second runner up, Lupita Valero from Guerrero was announced as the third runner up, Nebai Torres from Jalisco finished as the fourth runner up, meanwhile Karely Sandoval from Zacatecas was announced as the fifth runner up.
Mexico has won two Miss Universe crowns in the courtesy of Lupita Jones (Miss Universe 1991) and Ximena Navarrete (Miss Universe 2010). Mexico last placed at Miss Universe pageant in 2016 when Yuselmi Cristal Silva Dávila was adjudged as Top 10 semi-finalist. Meanwhile, Mexico has also won two Miss International crowns in the courtesy of Priscila Perales Elizondo (Miss International 2007) and Anagabriela Espinoza Marroquín (Miss International 2009). Mexico last placed at Miss International pageant in 2016 when Anagabriela Espinoza Marroquín was adjudged as Top 15 semi-finalist.
