Miss Grand Indonesia Pageant Acquired By Dharma Gantari Foundation
Indonesia won its very first Miss Grand International crown in 2016 when Ariska Putri Pertiwi won the title. Although the rumors were going around the pageant world, that a new organization will be securing the franchise of Miss Grand International, it has only been made official when the President of Miss Grand International Organization, Nawat Itsaragrisil and the reigning Miss Grand International, Maria Jose Lora visited Indonesia.
During a press conference held at Sapta Pesona Building, Ministry of Tourism, in Jakarta Indonesia, the President of Miss Grand International Organization, Nawat Itsaragrisil announced that the country will now hold a separate pageant to select its representatives to Miss Grand International pageant.
Puteri Indonesia, which was responsible for sending delegates to the Miss Grand International pageant will no longer be sending its representatives to the same. The search for the new Miss Grand Indonesia across 34 provinces of Indonesia will begin from February 28, 2018 in Palembang, South Sumatra.
Miss Grand Indonesia pageant is owned by Dharma Gantari Foundation, which signed a ‘Memorandum of Understanding’ with the Miss Grand International organization as the official license holder of Miss Grand Indonesia. The National Director of Miss Grand Indonesia is Miss Tourism Indonesia 2015, Dikna Faradiba, who expressed her ecstasy on acquiring the franchise by stating, “When I first held the license I could not believe it. From here I can show that the younger generation can bring many good things for the country. Youth is no obstacle.”
