Gabrielle Vilela is Miss Mundo Brasil 2017
Gabrielle Vilela was crowned as Miss World Brazil 2017 in the grand finale of 27th edition of Miss Mundo Brasil on August 12, 2017 at Hotel do Bosque, Angra dos Reis in southwest Rio de Janeiro. She succeeds Beatrice Fontoura from Goiás as the new Miss World Brazil and will be representing Brazil at Miss World 2017 pageant, slated to take place in Sanya, China on November 18, 2017.
This year 42 contestants vied for the title of Miss World Brazil 2017. During the same event, Bárbara Reis from Mato Grosso was titled as the first runner up and Júlia Horta from Zona da Mata was adjudged as the second runner up.
Brazil has won the Miss World crown only once through Lúcia Tavares Petterle, who was crowned as Miss World 1971. Brazil has been placing consecutively at Miss World since last six years and holds a great sash factor at the said pageant. Last year Brazil was adjudged as a Top 11 finalist at Miss World pageant.
