Rachel Peters Wins Binibining Pilipinas Universe 2017
Rachel Peters was crowned as Binibining Pilipinas Universe 2017 on April 30, 2017 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Philippines. She succeeds the outgoing queen, Maxine Medina as new Miss Universe Philippines and will now represent the country in the coming edition of Miss Universe.
Philippines has held a terrific record at Miss Universe pageant recently. Since 2010, Philippines is consecutively placing at Miss Universe for six straight years. In these seven years, Philippines has placed five times in the Top 5 finalists through Maxine Medina, Venus Raj, Shamcey Supsup, Janine Tugonon and Ariella Arida, once in Top 10 semi-finalists through Mary Jean Lastimosa and has won its third crown after 42 years through the courtesy of Pia Wurtzbach.
During the same event, Chanel Olive Thomas was titled as Miss Supranational Philippines 2017, Maria Angelica De Leon was adjudged as Miss International Philippines 2017, Elizabeth Clenci was crowned as Miss Grand Philippines 2017, Katarina Rodriguez emerged as Miss Intercontinental Philippines 2017 and Nelda Ibe was declared as Miss Globe Philippines 2017.
