Savvy Shields is not new to pageants and has formerly won Miss Arkansas’s Outstanding Teen in the year 2009. Her platform for Miss America was “Eat Better, Live Better,” a campaign to encourage healthy living. She performed a jazz dance for the talent portion of the contest.
Arkansas now holds three Miss America crowns under the representation of Donna Axum in 1964, Elizabeth Ward in 1982 and Savvy Shields in 2017. Heartiest congratulations to Savvy Shields on this win! 🙂
