Tamara Jemuovic Crowned Miss Earth Canada 2016
Tamara Jemuovic was crowned as Miss Earth Canada 2016 on August 19, 2016 at the La Plaza Salles de Reception in Montréal. Tamara Jemuovic succeeds Miss Earth Canada 2015, Tatiana Maranhao. She will now represent Canada at Miss Earth 2016, where the reigning Miss Earth, Angelia Gabrena Ong of Philippines will crown her successor.
During the coronation gala of Miss Earth Canada 2016, Samantha Fraughton (Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta) was titled as the first runner up, Dasol Lee (Montreal, Quebec) was adjudged as the second runner up, Jasmine Herrera (Guelph, Ontario) was announced as the third runner up and Natalie Carriere (Timmins, Ontario) finished as the fourth up.
Winning special awards at Miss Earth Canada 2016 were-
- Beauties for A Cause: Chiantelle Rey (British Columbia)
- Miss Photogenic: Crystal Yoo (Calgary, Alberta)
- Miss Talent: Lea Zhang (Montreal, Quebec)
- Miss Congeniality: Kaylee Christine Shallow (Hamilton, Ontario)
- Best in Swimsuit: Tamara Jemuovic
Tamara Jemuovic formerly competed at Miss World Canada 2013, where she was adjudged as the first runner up. Tamara Jemuovic reportedly, sued Miss World Canada organizers for partial sponsorship money, by stating that she received a bounced cheque.
The gorgeous beauty will now compete at Miss Earth 2016 in Philippines to bring home the second Miss Earth crown. Canada has won one Miss Earth crown in 2007 under the representation of Jessica Trisko.
